Mark H. Feldman
DC, CCSP, FICC

Mark was born and raised in New York City. As a teenager, an athletic injury landed him in a chiropractor’s clinic. Mark was carried into the chiropractic clinic and walked out a short time later. After this seemingly miraculous experience, Mark committed himself to the long and challenging goal of becoming a chiropractor.

Education

Mark attended the prestigious State University of New York on an academic scholarship. He graduated from the State University in 1980 with a Bachelors Degree and International Honours. During his four years at the University, Mark played on the University Football (Gridiron) and Karate Teams.

After graduating the State University, Mark attended the New York Chiropractic College for four years of additional study in the doctoral programme. In addition to maintaining the rigorous academic schedule, he captained his class soccer and softball teams to championships. Mark graduated from New York Chiropractic College with the Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree in 1984.

Immediately after graduation, Mark opened his first chiropractic clinic in New York City. The practice specialised in the treatment of athletes and athletic injuries. In 1985 he began his post-graduate study in sports science, and in 1987 earned the degree of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP.) Over the past twenty years, Mark has worked with hundreds of amateur and professional athletes from all over the world.

Teaching Experience

Mark was contacted by the New York Chiropractic College in 1985 and requested to return to the classroom – this time as a member of the Faculty. He accepted the position of Lecturer in Clinical Studies and began a simultaneous career in chiropractic education. In 1990, Mark accepted a full time teaching position at New York Chiropractic College and rose to the rank of Associate Professor of Clinical Studies within a few short years.

Awards and Achievements

The students at New York Chiropractic College honoured Mark with awards for teaching excellence in 1986 and 1996. In recognition for his contributions to chiropractic education, he was awarded the highest distinction in the chiropractic profession when he was made a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors (FICC) in 1995.

During Mark’s tenure in chiropractic education, he continued his professional development outside the classroom. He studied and completed all of the National Board Examinations (Parts 1, 2, 3, 4 and Physiotherapy) in the United States. Mark is licensed (registered) as a Chiropractic Physician in Illinois, Colorado and New York. He is qualified for full registration in over forty states throughout the U.S.

During the 1990’s, Mark continued his involvement with high performance athletes. He served as a Ringside Physician for the Professional Karate Commission. In 1995, he was named the Official Chiropractor for Team USA, the U.S. National Karate Team. Two years later, Mark's service and achievements with the National Karate Team were recognised and honoured as he was named the Director of Medical Services for Team USA in 1997.

Why I became a Chiropractor

Because as a teenager, I was saved by a Chiropractor
Because I honour the inborn potential of everybody to be truly healthy
Because I desire to help the newborn, the aged, and those without hope
Because I choose to care for the patient with the disease, not the disease itself
Because I wish to assist the body, rather than intrude in it or tamper with it
Because I wish to free the body, rather than control it
Because I seek to correct the cause, not its effect

Because I know that doctors do not heal, only the body can heal itself
Because I have been called to serve others
Because I want to make a difference in this world
Because everyday I get to witness miracles
Because I know it is right
